Dr. Lear founded her South Asheville practice with a simple vision: to provide extraordinary eye care delivered with warmth, precision, and personal attention.

A Western North Carolina native, Dr. Lear discovered her calling while working as an ophthalmic technician at a local private practice while earning her undergraduate degree at UNC Asheville. Helping a young girl see clearly for the first time revealed the profound impact vision care can have on a person's life—a moment that inspired her to pursue optometry.

Following optometry school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Dr. Lear returned home and spent several years in private practice before opening her own practice in 2015. Since then, she has built a reputation for combining advanced technology, thoughtfully curated eyewear, and personalized patient care in a welcoming environment.

Outside the office, Dr. Lear enjoys spending time with her husband, Mark, and their two children. She remains deeply grateful for the faith, family, and community that have shaped her life and is honored to serve the patients who place their trust in her every day.
